Secondary infertility can affect either couple or both. Secondary infertility is sometimes caused by a combination of circumstances. In fact, secondary infertility is equally caused by assigned sexes and unknown factors.
Some of the most common causes are:
- Either sperm or eggs are affected.
- Age.
- Previous pregnancy complications.
- Complications from a previous operation.
- An increase in body weight, often known as BMI (body mass index).
- Medication or other medical issues.
- STIs are sexually transmitted infections.
