PCOS creates a hormonal imbalance that interferes with ovulation. PCOS is linked to insulin resistance and obesity, as well as abnormal hair growth on the face and body and acne. It is the most common cause of infertility in women.
Failure to ovulate is the most prevalent overall cause of female infertility, affecting 40% of infertile women. Ovarian or gynaecological diseases such as primary ovarian insufficiency (POI) or polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) can cause infertility.
