Why is IVF performed?

IVF is used for a variety of reasons, including infertility concerns or when one partner has a pre-existing health condition. Some people will pursue IVF when other means of fertility have failed or if they are of advanced maternal age. IVF is also a viable reproductive option for same-sex couples or individuals who want to have a child without a spouse.

IVF is an option if you or your partner has:

  • PCOS (poly cystic ovary syndrome) or other ovarian problems.
  • Fibroid in the uterus.
  • You have uterine problems.
  • You have uterine problems.
  • Infertility that cannot be explained.
  • Are employing a gestational surrogate or an egg donor.
